The butterfly plate of the opposed-type butterfly valve is designed for installation in the direction of the pipe diameter. Its working principle lies in the disc-shaped butterfly plate within the cylindrical channel of the valve body. This butterfly plate can rotate around the axis within the range of 0° to 90°, thereby enabling flexible regulation of the flow rate. When the butterfly plate rotates to 90°, the valve will reach its maximum opening. This type of butterfly valve is compact in structure, small in size, and lightweight.
The correct installation of a butterfly valve requires strict adherence to three core elements: direction control, flange calibration, and operation verification. Among these, the valve axis being placed horizontally, the precise alignment of the sealing surfaces, and the functional test are the key to ensuring the sealing performance.

1.Before installation, it is essential to remove all dirt and impurities from the valve sealing surface and the pipeline, ensuring that no residues remain.
2. During installation, it is necessary to precisely align the inner opening of the flange on the pipeline with the ear hole of the socket-type butterfly valve, ensuring that the flange plate is tightly in contact with the rubber sealing ring of the butterfly valve.
3. Before installing the valve, a test for the butterfly plate's opening and closing should be conducted first.
Ensure that the butterfly plate does not experience any jamming during the opening and closing process. Only then should the nuts be tightened for fixation. Please note that this test is of utmost importance. Ignoring it may lead to subsequent jamming, affecting the normal opening and closing of the butterfly valve, and even causing significant leakage.
Key points to note
1. Pipeline configuration optimization.
* Avoid directly connecting bends or T-junctions to the water inlet side of the valve to prevent diversion and ensure uniform force on the butterfly plate.
* It is recommended to install expansion joints on the outlet side to reduce the impact of pipeline stress on the valve body.
2. Medium flow direction handling.
* Ordinary butterfly valves allow bidirectional flow. For hard-sealed models, they should be installed according to the arrow direction on the valve body to ensure sealing under reverse pressure.
3. Testing and acceptance standards.
* During the pipeline strength test, the butterfly plate must be fully opened. For the sealing test, it should be conducted in the fully closed state. The hard-sealed butterfly valve needs to withstand a test pressure that is twice the working pressure.
