In continuous process industries such as chemical engineering, water treatment, and bulk material transportation, the reliability of control valves is directly related to production stability and operational costs. Traditionally, certain valves used for throttling or frequent regulation (conventional ball valves) have faced issues such as easy wear of sealing components, actuator jamming, and frequent calibration and maintenance requirements due to their design limitations, leading to production halts and high maintenance costs. With the increasing demands for process automation, the market is now turning to seek solutions that offer inherently higher reliability and lower maintenance needs. Among these, V-port designed and metal hard-sealed V-Port pneumatic ball valve, with their unique mechanical structure and high regulation ratio, are emerging as key technical options for achieving long-term stable and low-Upkeep flow control.


The design limitations of traditional valves have led to high maintenance cost

  • In environments containing particulate matter, slurries or corrosive media, soft-sealing valve seats (such as PTFE) are prone to rapid wear due to erosion, corrosion or temperature cycling, resulting in leakage and necessitating frequent replacements.
  • The "fast-opening" flow characteristic of the ordinary ball valve makes its control unstable at small opening degrees, and thus it is difficult to be used for precise regulation.

These limitations often result in the need for frequent inspections, spare parts replacement and downtime maintenance of the valves, thereby increasing the costs during the valve's usage process.

1.High Rangeability and stable control characteristics

The adjustable ratio of the V-Port ball valve is as high as 300:1, which means it can provide precise control within a wide range of variations. Moreover, the V segmented ball valve also has an inherent flow characteristic that is approximately proportional, further enhancing its regulating performance.

The high regulation ratio reduces the violent and frequent movements of the valve at small openings, thereby reducing mechanical wear. At the same time, the stable control characteristics mean that there is less process fluctuation, and the stress on the valve caused by pressure or flow surges is also reduced.


2.The superior mechanical structure reduces the occurrence of faults

The double-bearing structure provides stable support for the valve stem, effectively reducing wear and vibration, ensuring smooth valve rotation and thereby reducing the starting torque and extending the lifespan of the packing and bearings.

Using a sturdy valve body (made of materials such as WCB, CF8M, etc.), it avoids valve body deformation and potential leakage paths caused by pipeline stress or pressure fluctuations, providing long-term structural integrity.


3.Sealing and Design Features of V-Type Segmented Ball Valve

The sealing of V-type ball valves mainly consists of two types:

  1. PTFE and PEEK soft seals, which are suitable for use in low-temperature or medium-temperature conditions, can effectively prevent medium leakage, and are applicable to various corrosive media.
  2. Metal hard seals, which are suitable for high-temperature and abrasive media. They can maintain a tight seal even after slight wear, significantly extending the maintenance cycle.

The sharp cutting edges at the edge of the V-shaped sphere can shear the medium during rotation, effectively preventing solid particles, fibers or viscous media from accumulating in the valve chamber. This eliminates the jamming caused by blockages and the maintenance requirements.


The pneumatic V-type segmented ball valve, with its high regulation ratio, optimized mechanical structure, and targeted sealing solutions, provides process engineers with the ability to reduce unplanned downtime, lower long-term maintenance costs, and achieve long-term stable operation for continuous production.
