The A48Y safety valve is a spring-type fully-opening safety valve, suitable for steam, air and other media with a working temperature of ≤ 200℃. It is mainly used for overpressure protection of equipment such as boilers and pipelines. This valve is equipped with a wrench structure and a spring mechanism. The pressure can be set by adjusting the screws, and it has a forced opening function to ensure rapid pressure relief.

The safety valve plays a role of safety protection in the system. When the system pressure exceeds the specified value, the safety valve opens, discharging a portion of the gas/liquid in the system into the atmosphere/pipes outside, so that the system pressure does not exceed the allowable value, thereby ensuring that the system does not have an accident due to excessively high pressure.

1. For boilers with a rated evaporation capacity greater than 0.5 tons per hour, at least two safety valves must be installed; for boilers with a rated evaporation capacity less than or equal to 0.5 tons per hour, at least one safety valve must be installed. Safety valves must be installed at the outlet of the split economizer and the outlet of the superheater.
2. The safety valve should be installed vertically at the highest position of the boiler drum or header. No outlet pipes or valves for extracting steam should be installed between the safety valve and the boiler drum or header.
3. The spring-type safety valve should be equipped with a lifting handle and a device to prevent the adjustment screws from being tampered with at will.
4. The connecting pipe between the safety valve and the boiler should have an inner diameter no less than that of the inlet of the safety valve. If several safety valves are installed together on a short pipe directly connected to the boiler drum, the cross-sectional area of the short pipe should be no less than 1.25 times the total exhaust area of all the safety valves.
5. Safety valves should generally be equipped with exhaust pipes. The exhaust pipes should lead directly to a safe location and have sufficient cross-sectional area to ensure smooth exhaust. At the bottom of the exhaust pipe, a drain pipe that can lead to a safe location should be installed. Valves should not be installed on either the exhaust pipe or the drain pipe.
